A publicly traded specialty electronics materials company is standing up a medium-scale manufacturing site in West Haven, CT for a first-to-market copper-based platform headed into AI infrastructure and advanced semiconductor packaging. They need a Process Engineer II to own SPC, drive corrective action, and help define what good looks like on a product that has never been manufactured at this scale before.
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a NYSE-listed specialty electronics materials company scaling a first-to-market nano-copper platform from R&D to commercial production. With approximately $150 million authorized for the scale-up across multiple U.S. sites, this is one of the most significant build-outs in the company's recent history. West Haven is the medium-scale manufacturing site in that network.
You'll join the West Haven process engineering team as the site stands up manufacturing operations for a copper-based chemical platform targeting AI chip packaging, 5G infrastructure, and power electronics. This is not a role where you inherit a mature process. The yield curve is still being drawn and the SPC baselines you build will be the reference standard for years.
You will report into the site engineering leadership and work closely with production, maintenance, and EHS daily.
- Own daily production monitoring for quality, cycle time, EHS compliance, and adherence to documented work practices
- Run Statistical Process Control on critical processes: identify out-of-control events, find root cause, drive corrective action, and defend statistical reports to internal customers
- Close NCMRs and customer-complaint Corrective Action Requests for batch manufacturing issues with root cause rigor that prevents repeat occurrence
- Write and modify Work Instructions for existing products
- Troubleshoot process equipment and coordinate Management of Change with Maintenance and Production
- Execute equipment and instrumentation calibration programs
- Help define the yield curve on a product that has never been manufactured at commercial scale
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years in a process engineering role in chemical manufacturing or specialty materials
- Strong SPC fluency with the discipline to operate in a regulated, audited environment
- Comfort owning corrective action follow-through end-to-end, not just flagging issues
- Able to work onsite full-time in West Haven, CT
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training
- Background in batch chemical manufacturing, electronic materials, or specialty chemicals
- Experience with Minitab, JMP, or similar SPC tools
